In this week’s peek at the movies that made it into the current “Rough Cut” edition of Gather I present you with one that features what might be the most memorable T-shirt ever worn on the big screen. No one—and I mean, no one—has ever made a Hanes look quite so good as the devastatingly handsome Marlon Brando did as Stan in A Streetcar Named Desire. His behavior, especially towards his wife’s sister, the ever-so-fragile (and oh-so-very-crazy) Blanche Dubois, was brutish to say the least, but boy was he easy on the eyes. Our Bourbon Arnold Palmer takes into account Stan’s love of the hooch (Stan: “Man, liquor goes fast in the hot weather. You want a shot?” Blanche: “No, I rarely touch it.” Stan: “Well there’s some people that rarely touch it, but it touches them often.”) and the sweltering New Orleans summer temperatures, combining the booze with a refreshing blend of iced black tea and fresh-squeezed lemon juice. Drink up!
