Cher Horo-Spritz Cocktail

Cocktails & Beverages from Issue 11 – Summer 2017 – Heroines

A modern retelling of Jane Austen’s Emma, Clueless is a misnomer for a movie that’s more whip-smart than it gets credit for; its nimble dialogue, manna for our GIF-driven times. That this tale of spoiled, self-obsessed teens in ‘90s Beverly Hills came from the brain of cynical Bronx-born director Amy Heckerling (who also gave us Fast Times) makes it that much more of a marvel. For Cher, Alyson Iwamoto of L.A.’s Here’s Looking at You made an elevated take on a wine cooler that mimics a California sunset.

makes 1 cocktail

  • 1 ½ oz Lillet Blanc
  • ½ oz Giffard Pamplemousse
  • ½ oz Dimmi or St. Germain
  • 1 oz club soda or seltzer
  • 1 oz Lambrusco, preferably a dry and fruity variety
  • fresh hibiscus flower or other exotic flower for garnish

  • Shake Lillet Blanc, Giffard Pamplemousse, and Dimmi (or St. Germain) in a shaker with ice until well-combined and chilled. Strain into a glass filled with fresh ice. Top with soda then carefully layer Lambrusco on top. Garnish with flower.
