Cocktails & Beverages from Issue 9 – Summer 2016 – The 1970s

A vintage yellow rotary phone at Atlanta’s Beetlecat bar and the opening track of Blondie’s 1978 album Parallel Lines (the song is actually a cover of a 1976 tune by The Nerves) inspired creative beverage consultant Lara Creasy’s sweet bombshell blend
in a platinum hue.

  • oz rum (such as Havana Club)
  • 1 oz Giffard Banane du Bresil
  • 1 oz pineapple juice
  • 1 oz fresh orange juice
  • ½ oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 barspoon Galliano
  • pineapple leaf and freshly grated nutmeg for garnish

    Vigorously shake all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a tall glass filled with ice. Garnish with a pineapple leaf and a pinch of nutmeg.
