High Spirits Cocktail

Cocktails & Beverages from Issue 11 – Summer 2017 – Heroines

Daring Zelda Sayre would find a match for her wild child ways in F. Scott Fitzgerald. Paradigms of the rebellious Jazz Age spirit, they became known for their over spending and hard partying. “They looked as though they’d just stepped out of the sun,” Dorothy Parker once wrote of the pair. Though her husband got all the fanfare, Zelda wrote her own autobiographical novel, Save Me the Waltz, between mental hospital stints in the ‘30s. For our cocktail homage, Ann Marie del Bello of New York’s Loring Place created a take on a mojito with gin (the pair’s spirit of choice).
