This tawny barrel-aged gin and sherry sipper by Steve Wildy of Lo Spiedo in Philadelphia is a newfangled take on a classic Martinez.

  • 1 ½ oz barrel-aged gin (we like Bluecoat Barrel Reserve)
  • 1 oz Amontillado sherry
  • ¾ oz Amaro (we like Nonino for a lighter, citrus note)
  • 3 dashes orange bitters
  • orange peel

    Stir 1½ oz. barrel-aged gin, 1 oz. Amontillado sherry, ¾ oz. Amaro, 3 dashes orange bitters vigorously over ice, then strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass. Garnish with a generous orange peel.
