Tang made it into outer space in the ’60s, when astronauts sipped the stuff while in orbit. Elad Zvi and Gabriel Orta, the pair behind Bar Lab and the Broken Shaker bars at the Freehand hotel properties in Miami and Chicago, used it to rim their bright, space-inspired tangerine tipple.

makes 1 cocktail




  • 2 oz silver tequila
  • 1 oz agave syrup
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 2 oz tangerine juice (blood orange juice will also work, but tangerine really gets the Tangy flavor)
  • orange Tang and salt for rim

    Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a glass of ice rimmed with Tang and salt.
